Jacobo Mintzer
Managing Partner

Dr. Mintzer is a geriatric neuropsychiatrist with experience as principal investigator (PI) for over 250 clinical trials. He is the former President of the International Psychogeriatric Association.  Additionally, he previously served on the Council of Aging with the American Pscyhiatric Association and on the Board of Directors of the American Association of Geriatric Psychiatry. He is a Professor of Neuroscience and Psychiatry at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) and the executive director of the Biotechnology Research Institute at Roper Saint Francis Health Care System. His career has focused in the areas of neurosciences, geriatric psychiatry, and medicine, including the psychopharma-cology of Alzheimer’s disease, the behavioral management of agitated patients with dementia, memory disorders and mental health in the elderly as a function of their ethnicity.

Mike Splaine
Managing Partner

Mr. Splaine has been working in the field of health and long term care since 1988. Mike has a proven track record of helping organizations achieve success in advocacy for health and long-term care issues. He combines his deep knowledge of policy and program development and management with his skills in public speaking, community organizing, adult education, media strategy and public health communications. Mike had a career of over 20-years on the public policy and advocacy staff of the Alzheimer’s Association. Mike is also the CEO of Cognitive Solutions, providing specialized health care consultancy on Alzheimer’s care in hospital settings, and owner of Splaine Consulting, offering governmental and policy consulting services in the U.S. and abroad.

Anakaren Lamas
Director, Recruitment Campaigns

Ms. Anakaren Lamas led a number of far-reaching community initiatives within the Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias sphere. She has worked in the nonprofit sector and long-term care serving families and individuals living with dementia for over a decade. Anakaren has extensive experience building partnerships with community stakeholders as well as conducting education and outreach to multicultural groups. For years Anakaren’s career has centered on enhancing individuals’ understanding on Alzheimer’s Disease and the value behind the role that community engagement plays in the acceleration of research. As program staff at the Alzheimer’s Association, Anakaren educated families on the latest dementia research and connected them to vital resources that help promote quality of life. Moreover, Anakaren has spearheaded public policy efforts aimed to identify barriers and viable legislative solutions that would help improve the network of community-based supportive services for people living with dementia and their families.

Jennifer Vasconcellos
Assistant Director, Administration

Mrs. Jennifer Vasconcellos adds over 17 years’ experience of administrative knowledge, trade show planning, and project management to Recruitment Partners. Prior to joining, Jennifer directed customer service and logistics for an international manufacturer of power transmission equipment. Servicing utilities, private engineering firms, and federal agencies, she was responsible for marketing analysis, coordinating international logistics, and program management.  Jennifer holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

Peter Lucash
Senior Advisor

Mr. Lucash is the CEO of BioPharmaConnex, which is a partner in Recruitment Partners LLC.  He has over 30 years of experience in the areas of healthcare, entrepreneurship and business management. He was the administrator of a private cardiology practice, Manager in the consulting practice of a “Big 4” CPA firm, and an executive at two urban teaching hospitals. He has worked and consulted for an array of hospitals, medical practices, home health agencies and nursing homes, in addition to other young and emerging companies. Mr. Lucash holds MBA and MPH degrees from Columbia University and is currently a faculty member at Northestern University and other universities.

Giovanna Kanu

Ms. Giovanna Kanu is an experienced global clinical operations manager.  She has worked in clinical research for over 20 years in the capacity as an academic research assistant at Columbia University, site monitor and study leader with small to large global pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical companies. She has managed several clinical trials from Phases 1 to 4 for small start-up venture capital backed and large global pharmaceutical companies. She has worked across many therapeutic areas, including but not limited to; stroke, oral contraceptives, gastrointestinal, ophthalmology and oncology.   She has extensive experience in strategic study start-up and conduct, external vendor partnership and management, process improvement, and site and study team training. Giovanna holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from CUNY, Bernard Baruch College and Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences from UMDNJ, Newark, NJ.
